Why You Don't Need a Chimney To Have a Fireplace

Who said you need a chimney to have a fireplace? You do not need a chimney to warm up with an electric or gel fuel fireplace! An electric or gel fireplace is a great way to add warmth and the look of a fireplace to your space. Gel or electric fireplaces do not require a chimney, create a mess, or need maintenance.

A traditional fireplace requires a lot of maintenance. Chimneys used for traditional fires need to be kept clean and in good repair- or you could end up with a chimney fire. A wood fire brings with it the mess of the set up of each fire and the ash left behind. In addition, there is also the expense that comes with supplying real wood or gas.

Electric fireplaces just need an outlet handy to plug them in to. They are easily moved, and don't have a real flame of any kind. Most have a simulated flame accomplished with lights. These are a great option if you live in an apartment or have small children or pets. There is the expense of the electricity to run an electric fireplace. Depending on where you live, and how long you use your electric fireplace, it can become costly to run at length.

Gel fireplaces use a gel canister for fuel. This type of fireplace allows you to have a real flame. Gel fireplaces are cheaper in cost than most electric fireplaces. Another advantage of gel fireplaces is that you can place them anywhere. They don't need electric outlet for use. In addition, there is no ventilation needed. You can also have a flame that will burn a long time on less fuel, with no mess. Most gel fireplaces can also supply an impressive amount of heat with their flame.
